Services: Alateen is a support group to help young people, usually teenagers, recover from the effects of someone else’s drinking.

Hours: There are Alateen meetings all around the Miami Valley. See website or call for a list of meeting locations.

Eligibility: Anyone who is troubled by or whose life has been affected by someone else’s drinking.

Services: Daybreak changes lives and creates new futures for homeless, at-risk, and troubled youth ages 10 to 24 in the Dayton region. Daybreak serves youth and young adults in crisis through emergency shelter, transitional housing, street outreach, and employment services. Daybreak is the region’s only housing program designed to move homeless youth ages 18 to 24 out of homelessness, poverty, under-education, and crisis and into housing, financial independence, educational achievement, and self-sufficiency.

Hours: 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Youth may reach Daybreak via the 24-hour crisis hotline.

Eligibility: Emergency Shelter- a troubled, at-risk or homeless youth between the ages of 10 and 19 are eligible to stay in the emergency shelter unless they have a known history of repeated or extreme violence or sexual offenses. Street Outreach- any troubled, at-risk or homeless youth up to age 24 may visit the Street Outreach Center for food, necessities and assistance in finding a safe play to live. Transitional Housing- Must be referred by the Daybreak emergency shelter, street outreach program, or another Montgomery County approved emergency shelter.

Service: Children & Adolescent Outpatient Services: Provides counseling and community supportive services to both children and their families who experience trauma, behavioral, mental, and emotional, and/or substance abuse issues related to their everyday living. Services may include individual/family counseling, case management, individual counseling, and pharmacologic management.

Services: East End provides crucial support to children, teens, adults and seniors. With educational initiatives, we assist with community building, after-school and summer programming, job coaching and job placement, and more.

Services: Initial assessment; individual treatment plan; regular individual, family, and group therapy sessions along with individual and group chemical dependency counseling, if needed; psychiatric and nursing services; a structured program that includes recreation, outdoor activities, and socialization; and on-site educational services.

Eligibility: Elementary school-aged boys who are victims of trauma (physical, sexual, or emotional abuse; neglect; witnessed the abuse of family members, etc.)

Services: Licensed as a mental health program, the Webster Street Academy and Family Center provides mental health needs assessments, treatment recommendations, and a plan that addresses these identified needs; educational curriculum; social skills training; coping skills training; community psychiatric supportive treatment; and psychiatric services. Students attending the Webster Street Academy remain actively enrolled in their current school, are generally able to participate in after school functions, and are awarded credit for the completion of academic work with the ultimate goal being the student’s successful re-integration to their home school.

Montgomery County Juvenile Court:

Services: A specialized intervention/prevention program designed to keep non-adjudicated youth under the age of ten from penetrating further into the juvenile justice system. The program addresses dependency, abuse, and neglect issues; delinquent and unruly behaviors; and mental health issues. Services include: counseling, anger management, specialized diagnostic assessments, and case management.

Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days week

Eligibility: Youth ages ten and younger who have been referred to Juvenile Court for allegedly being unruly or having committed serious felony offenses are eligible to participate. Youth without charges (walk-ins) can also be served by the program.
